Hello everyone. Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. So much going on.
First of all I want to thank everyone who posted to my last entry. What a response! I wrote from my heart and I had no idea how it would touch so many people! I was overwhelmed!
Hannah has had a busy month. She went on vacation with her father back home to Iowa to be with his family. That was a really long 10 days for me. By the 5th day, I was crawling the walls and crying becuase I missed her so much. She came back and 4 days later I left for Montreal, where I was gone for 5 days! It is good to be home and have my Hannah with me and our life somewhat back to normal.
Montreal was wonderful - great food, great wine, really cold though. I was raised in Iowa but I have been spoiled since I have lived in Memphis as far as the "warmer" weather.
Hannah is growing like a weed. She is so tall. People cannot believe she is only 2 (she will be 3 in January). She talks non stop. I guess she went to Walgreens with her dad and she was playing with the debit/credit card machine and Tim said "No Hannah" and she looked and him and just said "Daddy.....I am practicing!" I about fell out. I can get the girl to do almost anything if I holler "Hannah, let's go shopping". She is definitely all girl!
The only thing I am still having trouble with however, is potty training! UGH! I have started a "Hannah's potty page" and given one to the babysitter, her dad, and one at my house with stickers and everytime she sits on the potty she gets a sticker. Now here is the problem...she has yet to do anything in the potty. I feel like we have made some progress as before I couldn't even get her to sit on the potty but now I feel as I have to up the ante so to speak to get her to actually do something in the potty. The hard part is she was using the potty last December. I know some kids revert back and obviously that has happened but I would take any advice on this issue that I can get! Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Do I need to give her something additional after she goes in the potty? And if so, what would you suggest? Or are there any other suggestions that may work?
Hannah is going to be a little Spanish girl for Halloween. (Not a far stretch - hehe!) Actually my Grandma makes her costumes and I found a really cute Spanish girl costume that is red and has the black trim with the little balls on it. It is absolutely adorable. Then she is getting her hair done in a bun with a little red "scrunchie" around it....too cute don't you think???
Well, that is about all on this side. Hope everyone is going great! Congratulations to Kim on the finalization of their son! I am so happy for you and your family.
Until next time,
Laurie and Hannah (01/16/01)
