January 2, 2003

First of all I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Our new year has already gotten off to a rough start. I don't even know where to begin. I need to go back to Dec 16 when DH underwent the stomach surgery or what we like to call it now the Al Roker surgery. Everything went fine DH was home three days later with no problems. Then came Saturday night he woke up in extreme pain and had the chills same on Sunday. Monday we went in for his post op appt. They readmitted him to the hopsital for what they thought at first was pnemonia. Well, Tuesday he had his second surgery because they thought there was a leak but they could not find it. There was an infection so they cleaned everything out and put in some drainage tubes and a feeding tube. Today they did another catscan to find some more fluid that the drains were not picking up so they asperated an absess and put in another drain tube. They think the leak is in the old stomach so tomorrow they area actually going to give him jello to eat the first thing he can swallow in over a week! So if all goes well he may be home by Sunday or Monday. We had Christmas in the hospital and New Years. My family was pretty disapointed that they didn't get to see the boys and us but they understood. It has been very hectic since the hospital he is in is an hour away.
Well, then I thought hey we have court for M we have to get good news. Boy, was I ever wrong the bio dad had another PD appointed to him which she got the case last week and wasn't prepared so we are on hold for another two weeks. UGHHHHH. I am beginning to think that I have the plague or something with the amount of pouring it has done on me. Just when you think it can't get any worse it does. I have been full time with the boys for the past almost three weeks and boy am I tired but it hasn't been to bad. Except they both have colds now and are not sleeping well. I think M might have an ear infection we go to the Dr tomorrow. M has learned how to stand up and alrady has a few bumps. He likes to crawl after the cat and chase him M gets mad because I have been blocked in the living room so he will go to the gate and put his head on the gate and cry until you come and get him. Very funny. A is growing like a weed still doen't really care for solid food, but getting better. He is still not sleeping through the night!!!A finally figured out that it is much more fun to roll around then stare at the ceiling. He can almost sit up by himself although I have to say he looks like the huntchback! They grow so quickly and each day they learn something new. I look at them sometimes and have tears of joy. I am just praying that they rest of 2003 brings good things. Can it get any worse? I sure hope not.

Happy New Year
Kim
