When the Adoption Is Final By Jessica Gold
ours the moment the judge's gavel hit the table and the court asked us to take an oath saying that we promise to love the child forever and cherish him as part of our family. Oh yes, it was that moment that the tears started flowing from everyone in the room as we choked out our replies.
That was the moment of finalization, the moment that we all became one, and nothing not agency, not legalities, not the return of birth parents can ever separate our family. That's closure. That's relief. That's adoption. That's pure joy.
