Hope and Joy at the End of an Adoption Rainbow
By Kerri Charette
, four out of 10 American adults have considered adopting a child, and 64 percent have experienced adoption within their own families or among close friends. I had always been one of the four in 10 who considered adoption, but never followed through with action. After learning how easy adoption can be for families and seeing the opportunity to provide information to the pubic, I said yes when asked by our agency to help with spreading the word. I now host Families in the Making, an adoption talk show seen in Southeastern Connecticut, which covers adoption topics from "What is a Home Study?" to "How to Adopt out of the Foster Care System," among many others. Brian, too, is passionate about adoption and is a member of the Board of Directors of our adoption agency.
Our adoption has brought us Hope and Joy, and countless gifts we have yet to discover. The gold at the end of our adoption rainbow is too priceless to keep away from the pot that so lovingly made it.
